NGO Academy

The NGO Academy is a comprehensive Capacity Building Training Program aimed at nascent youth groups and NGOs’.

Under OTI funding and in association with the Center for Active Citizenship and ... for Development, DMI conducts a pioneer experience in Training Lebanese NGOs’.



This consortium of which DMI is an element provides training services to more than 150 NGO members and beneficiaries of OTI grants. The consortium also conducts the following activities:

  • Assessment of training needs.
  • Conduct general training according to assessment needs’ results.
  • Conduct specific NGO training needs.
  • Coaching and mentoring for beneficiary NGOs’ in their present and future projects.
On September 3th, 2009, 69 local NGOs’ were invited to a workshop at Crown Plaza Hotel, Beirut, where the participants had the chance to meet each other and discuss mutual problems and prospective solutions on a professional level.

Led by Ziad Moussa, DMI Managing Partner, the participants came out with different themes training that were acknowledged as a priority through their training programs; some of the themes raised during the workshop were: volunteers’ recruitment and management, fundraising tools and processes, IT applications and their effect on NGOs’ operation.

At this moment in time, the NGO Academy team is preparing for a series of workshops with potential trainees in North, Bekaa, and South Lebanon to asses trainees’ needs and move to course design work.
